ABOUT PALISADE PRESS:
In 2009 Craig Smith and Lynda Smith launched Palisade Press with the publication of DEAR FRIENDS, a collection of poems by Patrizia de Rachewiltz, with photographs by Lynda Smith. (Please see "Dear Friends" on this site.)
We followed this first book with YOUR EYES, a collection of the last poems by the late Italian poet and novelist Cesare Pavese, in a new bilingual edition translated by Craig Smith and Patrizia de Rachewiltz. (Please see "Your Eyes" on this site.)
Our third book is JUST ENOUGH, a collection of 64 tanka by poet and translator Dennis Maloney, longtime publisher of the widely respected White Pine Press. These poems are written in the voice of a contemporary hermit-poet in a small hermitage near Kyoto, Japan, and are inspired by such classic Japanese hermit-poets as Basho and Ryokan. With these inaugural publications we announce our intention to establish an independent press, one that aspires to fresh thinking and collaborations across cultures, boundaries, and borders. We also hope to discover new voices, and we will not neglect the healing power of humor.
